Youre in the wrong mindset for what is available for the 6600 - and
youre now furiously trying to come up with a car solution that doesnt
actually exist for this model.
The type of Bluetooth car kit that will work with the 6600 is the sort
that simply links car mounted audio accessories to a Bluetooth phone.
There is another way, which is to have essentially a complete phone in
the car that just accesses the SIM of a handportable phone over
Bluetooth - thats the Nokia 610 Car Kit Phone idea, which you need to
use with a phone that supports the Bluetooth SIM Access Profile (Nokia
6230, 6810 or 6820 - but not the 6600, at least not at the moment and
possibly not ever).
You will need a cradle to make the Bluetooth setup for your 6600 legal
in the UK. Fortunately there is a cradle for the 6600, but its entirely
passive. If you want to charge the phone in car, I think all you can do
is buy a cradle and a car charger, also a Bluetooth car kit for the
audio interface, and forget about the external antenna, as I simply
dont believe theres any provision for such a setup on the 6600.
Personally, Im sticking for now with my 6310i / CARK-91 based setup. As
I use a Pocket PC for most things, I dont need any more features on my
phone than the 6310i already has. 3G is simply not mature enough - but I
wont want to be parted easily from my wired car kits.
Im also one up on those that did go to Bluetooth hands free in the car.
Many phones only support one Bluetooth connection at once. When TomTom
bring out the TomTom Traffic add-on for Navigator 3 next month, as my
6310is Bluetooth isnt being used for hands-free, I have no problem
making a Bluetooth connection in car between the phone and the Pocket PC
to get traffic data over GPRS.
