Just got my palmone zire 72 handheld. I love it. Now all i need is a
bluetooth phone to go with it. The handheld has all the functions of
PIM, gaming, camera... etc. So all i want out of the phone is none of
that, but just bluetooth and making /recieving calls, and being able
to make a bluetooth connection with it so that i can check my email on
the handheld.

Any suggestions for such a good, simple, small phone?

6310i is a basic business phone with good battery life and proven (for me
anyway) on bluetooth. Free on most networks.

You could do a lot worse than go for an Ericsson R520m. Available sim-free
from Expansys for about Ł60

www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=ERIC-R520M

It may not be the smallest bluetooth phone about but it is probably the
cheapest. Robust build quality, excellent RF performance from the external
antenna and a battery life of about 7 days.

cheers,
simon

Im no expert so dont take my word but...

I know that different phones have different classes of GPRS. Different
classes offer different speeds so I would make sure to get a phone that
offers the fastest GPRS transfers.

IMHO, best simple BT phone to go for is the T39. It is cheap, has a
good battery life, an easy to read screen and a nice active flip cover
(which I find really useful). I have used it to connect to the web
using BT from a Pocket PC and a laptop - worked flawlessly. I have
also read many reports that it has a better reception than the T68,
but never tried a T68 myself.

Only downsides to T39 are: Slow UI (but has shortcuts), Small screen,
Small keyboard.

The R520 is also a great phone (basically a larger version of the T39
with no active flip but a larger screen, better keypad and a couple of
extra features (speaker phone and IR alarm snooze thingy I think, but
check yourself to make sure). Personally I would go with the T39,
mainly due to the active flip.

You can get both very cheaply on Ebay. Mine T39 has worked flawlessly
for more than 2 years.

Dave.
