Morning,

For the last two weeks I have been trying to add my
Pay Monthly phone account to www.orange.co.uk.
I have successfully registered, so I log in with my
phone number and password. Then I go to add a
new account and type in my phone number (again!).

The text with the security code arrives on my phone,
so I enter my account number and the security code
then hit next. I get a message which says Please
wait - your request is being processed which appears
to refresh about seven times, then I get a screen which
says:
Sorry - Unfortunately we are currently experiencing
a technical problem. Orange is aware of the problem
and is working to resolve it.

Since the same thing happened every time for two
weeks, I thought I would ring customer services (hah!).
They told me I needed to ring 156 (wirefree) who then
told me I needed to ring 439 (email help, premium rate).
I then paid Ł2.50 for some monkey to talk me through
the add account process and then inform me that yes,
there was a problem. This, as you can imagine, was
quite irritating given that I had already told them this.

Anyhew, has anyone successfully added an account
on www.orange.co.uk? Is there anyone I can contact
at Orange to get some assistance (not 50p a minute).

TIA,
Al

Please try again later.

I rang up because I couldnt get the on line one to work. The lady at
the end of the phone told me that the on line registration was very hit
and miss, and it was far easier ringing up to do it!

This problem is common on both Orange and Voda. Vodas website account
topping-up facility was duff for a few weeks early this year and I
dont think they even noticed.

ALWAYS telephone the freephone lost phone number (from a land line),
and when a human answers, tell them your phone isnt lost but that
this is the only number which has humans on it. Its the only way to
get through to Vodas customer service :)

Ive NEVER been able to register with them.

I get the sms through to my phone with the security code, but Ive never
got further than that. Ive had my Orange account for 3 years.

Ive tried e mailing them etc to no avail, Ive given up the hope of
ever having any kind of on-line account management with Orange now!

Whats the complication? Its easy!!! Just ring them up. I think that if
you are on a PAYG phone there is a one off charge of 25p to get through to
Customer Services these days. Cant remember as I dont ring them often.
Once its setup, adding extra phone numbers to your account is all done
online.
