I am going abroad and was wondering what are the costs associated with
diverting calls on Orange. If my phone is set to divert to a uk number,
then will the calls be charged at standard uk rate or do they try to pretend
that the call will have gone abroad first? If they are charged at the
standard uk rate, will they come out of my inclusive minutes? I am on
select 750.

TIA,

Lawrence

Depends where you initiate the divert.

If you set the divert up in the UK to divert all calls, then you will be
charged uk standard rate.

If you set up conditional diverts, or setup divert all calls whilst abroad,
then you will be charged for the incoming call to your mobile and then an
outgoing call back to the UK, whether the divert is a UK number or your
voicemail.

Thanks for the rapid reply. Thats an absolute con! If I set up divert
all calls whilst I am abroad, it is not as if the calls will ever leave the
uk....

If a call is diverted it wouldnt need to go abroad so I dont see why
a telco would charge you that way. Are you saying that people should
setup their diverts before they get on the plane?

Sorry, but I think this is a load of bullshit.

His reply may have been rapid, but it was wrong.

Unconditional diverts will not do the two international hops (or be
charged for them) whether you set them up in the UK or when roaming.

Great, thanks. Any idea if the calls come out of inclusive minutes on
Orange?
