Hi,

The reception in my house is terrible, completely unusable. Its a known
problem on all networks in this neighbourhood, so there is no point in
changing from Orange. In fact there are 4 microcells within 500m of here and
all of them are Orange according to the Ofcom site, they are the only
Network wanting to do something about it, it would seem. Unfortunately my
place and the adjoiing 2 streets are in our own little valley.

I wrote to Orange and they say that they are trying to get another site in
at one of three locations, 2 of which are in my postcode and 1 nearby. All
have been rejected. If there were 2 in my postcode, I would have expected to
have seen or heard something, yet checking the local council website shows
nothing filed for planning permission. Are they fobbing me off? Something is
needed because there are well over 200 houses, a pub and a school in the
black spot.

Maybe the latter will be an issue and I expect there will be NIMBYs who live
nowhere near who dont want little Johnny being irradiated, but I cant make
good use of my Everday 50 cause I cant get a signal! It seems like an idea
spot for a lamppost or telegraph pole mast.

Who do I need to speak to to get something put in?

Dave

surely you can put in a planning application for one in your back yard.. to
demonstrate you antinimbiness, then when u get permission you can get good
kickbacks from naranja.

Offer to have it in your back garden, then youll get 6 grand a year
rent..! Mind you the coverage will be crap directly underneath the mast

Not necessarily. Youll get relatively good, if not excellent coverage,
due to reflections of signals from nearby buildings and so on. If the
base station was in the middle of nowhere (like a field), with nothing
around it for miles, then I would agree fully with your comment.
