My lovely new Nokia E61 arrived this morning. *fab mobile* Decent
screen and I love the environment sensor so that it sees how bright
the room is and adjusts its large screen accordingly.
Anyway, I thought its quite a good phone so it would probably deal
with the BBC Breakfast Takeaway Podcast. Its meant for thinks like
iPods but the E61 plays it in realplayer and its really good quality
and adds up to about 31Mb. I downloaded it via my home wireless
network so it was very swiftly downloaded.

NOW FOR THE PROBLEM:
On the phone I browsed to
www.bbc.co.uk/breakfast and scrolled down,
downloaded the .mp4 file and... well, it tried to open it in notes
(text/plain) which isnt how its meant to be and as you can imagine,
nothing happened! I had a rummage around elsewhere but couldnt find
where the file had been downloaded to.
I downloaded the full file from the BBC Breakfast website to my local
PC and stuck it on my Apache HTTP server, then told my E61 to look at
my Apaches IP address and downloaded the file from the index.html
file.
Again, couldnt find where it was living on the phone so I almost gave
up. Then I decided to use the Nokia File Manager from Nokias PC
Suite which I installed a couple of hours ago to stick the MP4 file in
the video folder on the miniSD card on the phone which put the file
where I wanted it (but involved me plugging the phone in to the USB
cable.) Then I went to the E61s main menu, Gallery then shuffled to
video clips and podcast was listed. I selected the file and it
auto-opened in the phones RealPlayer and played flawlessly. Well
chuffed.
But... where does the E61 download files to? If I could find that out
then I could probably just start downloading the file via WiFi before
I got into the shower and when Ive got out exit the browser, open
something like SysExplorer, move the file to where I need it to go
then set off for work and watch the video in the smoking room or at my
desk to kill some time.
Ideally I just need a Save File As link when I select the BBC
Breakfast podcast but it doesnt look like its going to be as simple
as that.
The BBC website has an RSS Feeder page for the Breakfast Takeaway
<

but I cant see any Symbian OS 9.1 RSS readers out there but if you
know of any (which will permit a save file as thing) then Ill be
very pleased.
Thanks,
