Its all working here today.

I phoned T-Mobile at around 11:40 because my phone hadnt managed to
check my email since 08:10 (which is a few minutes before I went to
work) when it was last on WiFi at home. It failed for the rest of the
day. The bloke said that theyd had a few problems but didnt think
that I would ever be able to use data at the location I was visiting
(despite me working there for several years and it functioning without
issue) and then said that it should be up and running in a few days.

I hung up and while visiting another site in the evening 12 miles away
it still didnt work. I got home from the other site later on in the
evening, turned WiFi off on my iPhone and tried to get to any site -
nada. Turned WiFi on and it all worked. I called them but they said
theyd answer my call within 15 minutes so I hung up. All working
today.

Bad form for replying to my own post but looking at some of the
comments attached to that article seemed to agree that it was buggered
for most of the day yesterday from the morning:

Im in Sheffield and it was not working ALL DAY yesterday.

I should clarify, the 3/3.5G connection was working but their
transparent proxy just kept spitting out 502 errors so I couldnt use
the damn browser

This seems to back up what I was getting but on GPRS (iPhone doesnt
do 3G and T-Mobile doesnt do EDGE so I have to fall back on GPRS when
outside of WiFi zones) as the GPRS blue box came up next to the
mobile network provider name but nothing seemed to actually work.
After a few seconds the iPhone would return cannot find server.
Normally if theres a problem with GPRS the iPhone returns a generic
Cannot activate EDGE error so GPRS was working, but something was
buggered further down the line.
