My SIM was purchased on 30th Dec 2003 on an Orange contract YP120 +2000
Texts for 6 months free
Can you believe this?????
I returned to CPW today with my *second*handset. This handset had my same
Orange Sim that I had from my other T610 handset.
I suggested that the only common factor between the two handsets is my
Orange Sim.
The fellow in the shop tried it in *four* other T610 handsets. In each
handset the phone froze on texting.
I said I wanted to replace the SIM i believe its faulty. Its the only
common factor in all the handsets.
Now get this: (you can tell im seething)
He rings Orange. The numpty on the phone says this is a new fault and has to
be logged with a number but we need to do some diagnostics remotely to
verify that its a genuine fault. We cant let you replace the sim
I threw a wobbly and said how the hell can you do proper diagnostics without
having the actual sim card. The fault is probably mechanical, ie there is a
hairline crack in the card itself, or the contacts on the card, which needs
to be checked by tech support for *proper* diagnostics.! I could send the
phone back but would be with no replacement so without a phone for god
knows when
The numpty said thats thats the way they do things
So she said that she needs to email the tech manager to get a fault code
I said how long will it take and she said any thing from 3 days to 14 days.
I saw red and asked for christ sakes how long does it take to send and
receive an email response ? Meanwhile I could be without a useable phone for
a peiod up to 14 days.
It was then confirmed to be 3 days, which i shall be calling everyday from
tomorrow.
Im disgusted that orange are quite prepared to leave a customer without a
useable phone for an undefined period. And their diagnostic procedures for
new faults absolutely suck!!!!!!

Sheri
